Get out in front...and pretend it's a parade

I wasn't sure if anyone would be taking photos yesterday, and since Debi wasn't with me, I figured I better take a few of my own...

...which is not to imply that I was utterly without cohorts

...because even those who still had to work were wearing black and orange,

...as well as sundry other folk.

If you can't tell who is who,

...you haven't been paying attention all this time.

And there will be no point in trying to explain all the sub-plots to you now.

Nobody was particularly in a hurry to get anywhere.

But by dusk, the busy streets...

...had returned to normal.

Whatever normal might mean in a City as wacky and beautiful as this.

Humm Baby Chris! Thanks for the photos. This season was spectacular. From Panda hats to rally thongs. What a team!

LOVE these pics and the captions, Chris! You had some incredible vantage points all along the parade route. How did you do that? Thanks for sharing and posting ... .truly an historic event in SF history!

Marcy, I worked my way through the crowd until I arrived at Montgomery and Market—where I knew the parade would turn. In a couple of the photos, you can see a kid standing up on one of the pillars of the foyer of a bank there. As luck would have it, I found a perch just like his.

Yes, a really beautiful day. I found myself thinking something like: ah, so this is what "civic feeling" must mean.

Hey Chris - some great shots here! I especially like the Posey bus - and the guy with his bike. A classic! Since we've been without cable here lately your photos bring a welcome dash of color and spirit. Many thanks! -- Go S.F. Giants - !los campeones!

Great job capturing the magic Chris. Thanks for posting this allowing us a few moments more in the sun! Remember the Juan Marichal commercials " I drink Saxton Apple Juice!" What a season, talk about alchemy.

Chris,

A belated rave on the great pics. What a day, and you really captured it.

Very nice to catch the game with you up here on the hill.

PS Melissa"s party was a big surprise to her, and it worked perfectly. Felt the spirit of you and Debi in the fun. Hope to see you both this weekend. W
